Veterans now qualify for 100% covered acupuncture treatments through the Veterans Choice (VCP) and Patient-Centered Community Care (PC3) programs.

Start to Live Well.

The Veterans Choice Act which became effective in 2014 is a public law providing funding for veterans, so they can seek treatment outside of the VA. The law stipulates you must live 40 miles away from the nearest VA hospital/clinic or be unable to get an appointment within 30 days.

However, because there are no acupuncturists currently working at the VA everyone who qualifies for medical coverage through the Department of Veterans Affairs automatically qualifies for 100% covered Acupuncture treatments through the Veterans Choice Programand Patient-Centered Community Care (PC3) Program.These programs are administered in California through TriWest. The treatments do not require any co-payments or out of pocket costs if treatment is related to in service injury/activity.

If you’re a veteran searching for an acupuncturist experienced in helping veterans deal with service related issues in a caring and compassionate manner request a referral from Tri West/VCP and fax it to Maria Andino, L.Ac. at (818) 875-1575.

Acupuncture works well with other conventional treatment modalities such as counseling and medication. It is a minimally invasive and effective way to treat many of the health issues veterans face.

As a veteran your treatments may be focused on any or several of these conditions:

  • PTSD-including symptoms: insomnia, anxiety, depression, etc.
  • Pain Management– post traumatic pain, chronic pain, phantom limb pain, post-surgical pain, migraines, headaches, back pain, knee pain, shoulder pain, osteoarthritis, arthritis, TMJ, etc.
  • Mental Health– anxiety, depression, opioid addiction, drug addiction
  • Quality of Life– smoking cessation, weight loss, PMS, perimenopausal and menopausal symptoms, allergic rhinitis, high blood pressure, digestive issues, etc.
